Mr. Mitch Hiser is beginning his 13th year in education and his 2nd year as assistant principal of South Valley Middle School.  He started his teaching career in Liberty in the fall of 2004 as a kindergarten through fifth grade Spanish teacher at Lillian Schumacher Elementary and Franklin Elementary.  He then remained at Lillian Schumacher teaching first grade for five years.  He went on to teach third grade at Kellybrook Elementary for two year and then became a Teaching and Learning Coach in North Kansas City Schools.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, and a Specialist in Education Degree.  He received all these from Northwest Missouri State University.  As one who graduated from Manor Hill Elementary, Liberty Middle School, Liberty Junior High, and Liberty High School, he is honored to give back to the schools that invested in him to be a learner and an educator.

Mr. Hiser is student-centered and is thrilled at the opportunity to watch the continuation of student’s elementary foundation into their years at South Valley Middle School! He continually seeks out ways to support teachers and enjoys seeing them praised for their endless efforts!

In Mr. Hiser’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and raising their two beautiful daughters; Kate (6), and Elsie (3).  The Hisers love anything outside, anything “local sports”, and anything that involves learning.
