 Attention South Valley 7th Graders…Interested in being an 8th grade cheerleader? Be sure to attend the parent meeting this Thursday, May 10th at 6:30pm in the LMC at SVJH. You also need to fill out the Cheer Info Form located on South Valley’s Cheerleading Website. Please do this before our meeting and we’ll see you Thursday! http://svjh.liberty.k12.mo.us/cheerleading

Attention 7th Grade Girls: If you are interested in playing 8th grade volleyball next year at SVJH please meet Ms. Klare this Wednesday at 7:20 AM in the SVMS library.

 

BOX TOP Competition

This is just a reminder that the box top competition ends on May 11th and the top three winning classes will win a donut party on May 18th! 

JAZZ BAND REHEARSAL

Jazz Band has their last rehearsal Monday May 7th.  Any 6th grader who plays guitar, string bass, electric bass or piano is invited to come to the rehearsal to watch and listen and learn about jazz band.  Any 6th grade trumpet, trombone or saxophone player is invited too.  We have a special jazz combo here from the High school to perform for you. See you Monday at Jazz Band 2:30-3:30pm.  Please make arrangements for a ride.

FROM THE NURSE:

If your child has medication that is in the nurse’s office that they won’t need in the next few weeks, please remind your child to stop by and pick it up in the next few weeks. This is for medications that are taken on an “as needed basis”, not daily medication. We will send the daily medications home with students the last week of school, but will keep enough here to get us through to the last day of school.

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­CALLING ALL TALENTED SVMS singers, dancers, instrumentalists, gymnasts, band members, magicians and comedians!  The SVMS TALENT show is COMING!!!  There will be a box in the office on the counter to drop off your audition forms.  All forms must be signed by all students in the act and their parents in order to audition.  The deadline to return audition forms is Tuesday, April 24 at 2:30 p.m. 

Other important dates to remember:
Thursday, May 10              AUDITIONS beginning at 2:30 in the commons.

Friday, May 11                  TALENT SHOW PERFORMERS posted after school in the commons and at the front and back entrances of the school

Friday, May 18                  DRESS REHEARSAL   starting at 2:30 in the commons.

Tuesday, May 22               PERFORMANCE   times TBA

Sign up for the 2012 Dynasty Cheer Clinic!!!!

You will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading, including: motions, jumps,

cheers, chants, stunts, and dance.   You will also learn the importance what it takes to

be a successful athlete through positive attitude, academics, and leadership. Please see the

attached registration form if interested!

 

            As Liberty Public Schools moves forward with the middle level reconfiguration in the fall of 2013, we have created several resources and documents to help families understand the change and the impact it will have on their children. LPS Necessities Closet:

LPS has a necessities closet that provides items to families in need.  The list below contains current items that are needed to replenish the supplies through our Student Services Center at 650 Conistor. These items can be brought to SVMS and dropped off in our office or taken directly to the Student Services Center.  We appreciate your assistance as we help those in need.

·         Shaving Cream

·         Shampoo

·         Liquid “Body Wash” Soap

·         Liquid Laundry Detergent

·         Paper Plates, Cups

·         Plastic eating utensils

·         Dish Soap

·         Dishwasher Detergent

·         Underwear Boys and Men’s all sizes – preferable Boxers

·         Socks- preferable “low cut” athletic socks

·         Undergarments Girls and Women’s all sizes

·         Socks- all varieties

**Parents please remember to take turns letting people turn in and out of the school parking lots both in the morning and afternoon. We are aware of the heavy traffic around and in the parking lot and hope that this will make drop off and pick-ups more efficient. Also, please be aware of students crossing the street, especially when there is low visibility! Thank you! **
